7 Tips to Start Your Business as a Reiki Practitioner

I know starting a business can be really overwhelming. Especially if you’ve never started a business before. I know because I’ve been there. But I want you to know when we break it up into small steps, it’s actually really easy… The tip is not to focus on the big scary stuff.

You don’t need a logo, a website or a business name to start with. I see many of you getting caught up in all this stuff that doesn’t matter.

So what do you need to start? Clients!

The other stuff will come later.

I want to share my tips on how to get started. Small, easy things you can do right now. These are my learnings after leaving my corporate job and creating a 6-figure business in my first year. And I know you can too!

If you find yourself being triggered by any of this – great! That means we have deeper fears and limiting beliefs we need to play with so you can really start your business. And that’s probably the real reason you haven’t started… So take note of them and work through them!

The world needs you as a lightworker. In fact, I need you – I can’t do this alone. So the more of you that step into your true path, the better!

7 steps to starting your successful Reiki business today

1) Tell people you’ve started offering Reiki
Start with friends and family. You’ll be surprised at how many of them will take you up on the offer or who will pass it on to other people they know. People who love you will want to support you and pay you. That’s the biggest compliment and best thing they can do for you.

Don’t have a space where you can see people? Offering an online treatment or meet at the park or beach.

2) Get clear on who you want to serve
This will help you get clear on the other decisions you need to make. Rather than focus on what that person looks like or their age, think about the problem or challenges they are facing. Your gift that you bring is essentially how to solve that issue.

If you’re really stuck here think about the types of conversations you like to have – what could you talk about for hours!

3) Where will you find your soulmate clients?
Think about how you’re going to really attract those dream clients who you want to be working with. Where do they hang out? What are they interested in? Meet them there.

It might be Pinterest or Facebook groups with a particular interest. Wherever it is, meet them there and start talking to them. Follow #hashtags that represent their interest, comment on questions they ask, raise their curiosity and start having a presence, showing up as a credible and trusted resource for them.

Don’t like social media? That’s fine – how about creating a local meetup group with people interested in the same things. Put up flyers in local shops or do a letterbox drop to let them know.

4) Create a profile that explains who you are and what you do.
Make it clear in your profile that this is what you do and who you serve and also make it clear how people can contact you. All you need to start is an email address or a phone number!

5) Show up consistently
Only take on as much as you feel like you can maintain. You don’t have to be everywhere all the time, just be consistent so people get to know you, have an opportunity to build trust and rapport with you. Don’t focus on “vanity metrics” of how many followers – focus on the metrics that actually matter.

6) Create an altar/grid/vision board
Create a space dedicated to your successful business, to attract your soulmate (repeat) clients and to making a generous and sustainable income – which has nothing to do with being greedy! Making an income that provides you with more than enough helps you serve more and to provide others with the opportunity and permission to serve too. It also gives you more resources to give back more! The more my business grows, the more I have time and space to give more back and I want that for you too.

7) Be grateful
Hold a space of gratitude. Even if it’s just the opportunity to dream and to feel the high vibrational frequency that your dream offers you.

Be grateful for every like, every follow, every comment, every email or phone call and of course every client. No matter how successful I’ve become, this has always been my mantra – I am grateful the Universe continues to give me more of what I ask for so I can keep serving and showing up for each and every one of you.

And my bonus tips…

  • Get a coach or mentor and this can show up in more ways than one – fill your time with high vibes that will help you reach your dreams.
  • Work through the blocks that are holding you back from putting yourself out there. I still have fears and limiting beliefs but the key is not to let these control you. It’s about honouring them and working with them so they don’t hold you back.

And for those of you really ready to make this happen…
If you’re feeling called to really step into this work and want to work through your blocks and want to collapse time and not wait any more to make this happen, I love working with aspiring practitioners like you who are ready to show up and do the work to get there.

Let’s have a chat about how we can create love and magic together.
