When are we “ready” to learn Reiki?

A while ago I had someone ask me if I just teach a basic Reiki Level 1 certificate. She mentioned that there was so much included in my course that she didn’t think she needed all of that. My initial thought was of course I can teach you the basics of Reiki Level 1 and give you a certificate. But instead I told her the truth –  that’s not what I’m here for and that’s not what Reiki is about.

You see, Reiki isn’t just another certificate to add to your wall, it’s a life changing gift that will enable you to transform who you are and your life, as well as those around you.

Reiki is about unlayering all that we think we are and reconnecting to that TRUTH of who we are. Not the truth we have told ourselves for so long. But the absolute truth – that which you are is light. An expression of love. Divinity. Unlimited potential. All encompassing, everlasting. Wisdom. Abundance. Joy. Peace. Connected.

My courses of cover the traditional fundamentals and the structure of Usui Reiki. But just as Usui taught – Reiki for me is not just something you do once. It’s a way of life. A commitment to being the very best you can be. To show up and consistently practice. Even when it’s hard or you’re busy and feel flat. It is only with practice that we continuously unravel that truth. That we get closer to the truth. 

And it is in our consistency that we also learn to show up as the best version of ourselves, not only for ourselves but for those around us – whether that be as a practitioner, teacher, mentor or simply just for your loved ones. 

Reiki Level 1 isn’t just about learning what Reiki is and its history, how to connect to the energy of Reiki, and learning hand positions. 

It’s so much more… 

Level 1 is a demarcation point between who you are and who you want to be. It’s the moment of decision that you’re ready to deep dive into who you are and what you want. It’s the decision that you’re ready to fall in love with yourself and your life. That you’re ready for more. It’s a step into the infinite possibilities available to you. It’s you taking a leap of faith that maybe, just maybe you’re enough and worthy of love.

Level 1 is not just a basic Reiki certification. It’s the potential to change your life.
